Rev. E. O. Harding left this morn-, ing for Nelson to attend the Diocesan , Synod.
The funeral of Mr Lawrence Rankin, of Ruru, took place yesterday at Karoro Cemetery, Rev. E. O. Harding conducting the services.
A Moscow 7 cablegram announced that the Dean of Canterbury (Dr. Hewlett) has been decorated with the Order of the Red Banner of Labour at the Kremlin.
The funeral of Mr. William Henry Gualter, of Cobden, took place at Karoro Cemetery yesterday afternoon., The service at • Bellamy’s Chapel and at the graveside was condoucted by Rev. T. G. Campbell.
Guests at Revingtons Hotel include: Mr. and Mrs. Daly (Karamea), Mr. A. McArtney, Mr. R. Snowden (Nelson), Mr. F. J. Davies (Wellington), Miss J. S. Wright, Miss C. Troup (Christchurch), Miss T. Hogan (Hokitika).
The death occurred suddenly, last evening, at her residence, Preston Road, of Mrs Ellen Amelia Bond, wife of Mr Walter Bond (overseas). Deceased was a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs George Goodall, and was aged 45 years. She became suddenly ill about 5 p.m. yesterday and died three hours later. She is survived by her husband and one daughter; also, five brothers and one sister.

Coulter (Gore). The death occurred yesterday of Mr Arthur Thomas Boddy, of Milton Road, Greymouth. He was born in Hull, England, in 1873, and came to New 7 Zealand as a boy of seven, since living in Greymouth. He w 7 as employed by the Dispatch Foundry Coy.. Grevmouth. for 54 years, retiring four years ago. He. was a foundation member of the Karoro Bowling Club and a member of the Foresters Lodge. He is survived by his wife daughters, Mesdames J. Martyn (of Greatford), M. P. Connolly (Wellington), C. Neville, W. F. Ellis, and F. A. Sadler (Greymouth); also by two brothers, Ruebin and Earnest (Greymouth), and five sisters, Mesdames J. Lewis (Greymouth). T. Rouse (Moana), Hazildine (Christchurch). W. Whiteside (Whakatane) and F. Brown (Tauranga). There are 16 grandchildren and three preat-grandchildren. The funeral will take place at Karoro to-morrow.
