CARE OF PRISONERS.

RUGBY, April 26.

The Allied warning to Germany about the care of prisoners was not in principle limited to Allied prisoners of war, internees, and deported citizens of the United Nations, said Mr. Churchill in the Commons. Its scope extended to all prisoners in Nazi hands of whatever race, origin or religion, including stateless Jews and German and Austrian political prisoners who had suffered as a result of sympathy with our activities on behalf of the cause for which the United Nations were fighting. Mr. Churchill added that the British Government and the other Governments of the United Nations had repeatedly declared their intention to hc<d the enemy authorities responsible for the maltreatment of persons who had been imprisoned on the grounds.of race and religion.
