BRITAIN’S CHRISTMAS.
LONDON, December 27
Most of Britain had a white Christmas as the result of a sharp frost, which covered the houses, the streets and the fields with rime. It was in striking contrast to sunshine and fairly mild conditions on Christmas Eve? A thick blanket of fog covered many areas of the country, including part of London during Christmas Eve. This added to the difficulties which were caused to travellers by an underground railway strike for the two days’ holiday leave.
