GREY BOY SCOUTS
ANNUAL MEETING
The annual meeting of the Greymouth Boy Scouts’ Association was held in the Scouts’ Hall on Monday, there being a fair attendance. The Chairman, Mr J. M. Macaulay, stated that the past year had been outstanding, not only with regard to the active work of the cubs and .scouts, but also financially. The scouts' roll showed a membership of 50 and the cubs 70. Thanks were expressed to the District Scoutmaster, Mr. Russel, the District Lady Cubmaster, Mrs. Thomson, and the Assistant Cubmaster, Miss Gallagher. The financial statement showed a credit balance of £9O. During the year, it was reported, the sum of £49 was- spent on hall repairs, but there was yet a considerable amount to be expended before the hall was in first class order. The annual scouts parade was held in Trinity Hall on December 2, before a large attendance of parents and the general public. A display of different kinds of work done during the year was exhibited and first aid and musical items were also staged. The election of officers took place as follows: President, Mr. J. M. Macaulay; Secretary, Mr. G. W. Thomson; Auditor, Mr. R. E. B. Squire; Executive, Messrs W. D. Taylor, E. W. Smith, H. S. Hurle, H. G. Stiles, A. Harrison, A. J. Fairmaid and J. F. Laing. Thanks were expressed to the general public for their assistance and support at the annual shop day, and to all instructors and office bearers for their continued assistance.
