WEATHER REPORT 9 a.m.: Barometer, 1028.9 (rising); thermometer, 47; wind, easterly (moderate breeze); sky, overcast with showers; bar, considerable swell; river normal: rainfall, one point (total to date, 97.66 inches). The depth on the bar at high water yesterday was 20 feet five inches. WEATHER FORECAST. The following is the district forepart issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, to-day:— Situation: An extensive anticyclone is over New Zealand. Forecast to 5 p.m., Thursday: Moderate variable winds with northerlies to north-westerlies, becoming fresh at times. Weather, mainly fair to cloudy, and milder. Further outlook: Cloudy, with occasional rain spreading from the south.
