CONVICTIONS QUASHED.
(Rec. 12.10) LONDON, Sept. 25. The Court of Criminal Appeal quashed the convictions of Rawling Tearse, Lambert Heaton Lee, and James Ritchie Hasten, members of the Trotskyite organisation, who were sentenced to 12. 12 and six months’ imprisonment on charges of furthering the Tyneside apprentices’ strike against the Bevin Pit Ballot Scheme. Mr. Justice Wrottesley held that the jury at the Newcastle Assizes was misdirected.
Mi’s. Angel Rosaline Ethel Keen was granted an extension of time for an appeal against her conviction.
