Greymouth followers of boxing will be at the Town Hall in force this evening for the tournament being staged by the Marist Brothers’ Sports organisation. Nine contests are carded with West Coast amateurs meeting the best of Wellington’s talent, and it should be a great night’s fighting. Several of the visitors are provincial champions, while all the others are runners-up in their respective classes, and the West Coasters need no introduction. Boxers of the calibre of Norman Ross. George Bowman and J. Mundy are regarded as approaching if not in New Zealand championship class, and they will worthily uphold the. reputation of the West Coast. Unusually keen interest is being taken in the meeting of Mundy and Parata, the latter of whom is the 'Wellington champion in his division. The principal bouts will not take place until after 9 p.m. Carl Nelson, the weightlifter, did not make the trip with the Wellington team.
