REEFTON, September 14. Condition improved, was the report to-day concerning - N. B. (Joe) Griffin, of Reefton, who was admitted to the Hospital on Tuesday with injuries received when be was crushed between a wall and a motor lorry radiator on Tuesday morning. The lorry had been accidentally left in gear and started forward when the injured man cranked the engine. Weather conditions at Reefton on Wednesday were wintry. There were showers of hail and sleet on Tuesday night and a fresh fall of snow on the ranges, which has brought the snow level 1o the low ridges on lhe west bank of the Inangahiia River, near Reefton. There was a severe frost this morning. Captain Lawrence Park, 2nd N.Z. E.F., is spending furlough on the West Coast.
Mrs F. Lester (Fordell) is. visiting her mother, Mrs W. O. Bierwirth. Reef ton.
Mr jack McMahon, of the Railway Department staff, Lyttelton, is visiting relatives at Cronadun.
