CHRISTCHURCH. June 15. Valr.es increased sharply at the Addington market. yewerday... when sheep, beef and pigs ail shared the advance. Dairy cows brought prices in excess of £2O for good sorts Store- sheep.—The best ewe lambs made from 24/2 io 25/9, and medium up io 22/1. The highest price for wether lambs was 22.71 for a small pen, the bulk selling between 17/6 ana 19/10, with inferior down to 12/6. Ewes in lamb also declined in Quality, but seme large lines from North and South Canterbury attracted keen bidding. One line of high country twotooths in lamb to Romney rams sold from 27/6 io 31/3. and a pen of Romney ewes in lamb to Southdowns made 23/6. Medium and inferior ewes w< re difficult to sell at prices ranging from 13/- to 16/6. In the wether section. one pen cl' 45 two-tooths sold for 26/6. Fat lambs. —The highest price was 37/7 for a pen from a draft of 74 from Rakaia, which ranged from 29/1 to that figure. Another small pen made 37/1. Values were: Extra prime lambs to 37/7, good 29/10 to 33/1, medium 24/4 to 26/4, light and unfinished 19/10 to 22/4.

Fat sheep.-—There was a marked improvement in quality, especially of ewes, some very attractive lines being penned from South Canterbury and MRI-Canterbury. Wethers were also represented by some prime sheep, mostly from northern districts. Extra prime wethers, io 44/1. Prime wethers, 35/ 10 io 39/ 10. Prime medium-weight 'yethers. 32/- to 34/4. Light wethers, to 39/-. Extra prime ewes,, to 29/1. Prime ewes, 24/4 to 27/-. Prime med-ium-weight ewes, 19/7 to 22/4. Light ewes to 14/-.

Fat cattle. —Quality was better than, was the case last week. Outside entries from the West Coast and a few truck lots from the south helped in this direction, but most of the best cattle were from North Canterbury and local fattening districts. Extra prime steers, to £2O/17/6. Prime steers, £l5/15/- to £l7/15/-. Prime medium-weight steers, £l3/15/- to £l5/5/-. Ordinary steers, £lO/10/to £l3. Extra prime heifers, to £l4 ,17/6. Vetilers.—Large runners, £6/8/6 to £ 11/1/-; others, £4/18/6 to £6/3/6. Best vealers, £4/13/6 to £6/16/-. medium* £3/1/- io £4/11/-. Large calves, 48/- to 65/-; medium 32/- to 46/-; small and rough, 8/- to 28/-. Store cattle.—Waimate cattle. Black Polls and rising three years, made £l2, a second pen of 15 £ll/15/-, and a pen of big-framed three-year Hereford steers, also in forward condition, £l3/7/-. Other pens included one of eight Hereford steers at £9 17/6, 20 Hereford cross steers £5, eight mixed colours three and fourpear steers £lO/1/-, 22 Black Poll cross light-conditioned heifer calves £3/5/-, 10 Black Poll forward conditioned three-year steers £l2/11/-, 14 nixed colours dairy strain epws £6 13/6, and eight Red Poll heifers £4 12/-.

Dairy Cows.—Best heifers made Tom £l4 to £lB. with exceptional -ales at £2l/10/-,. £2O, and £25.
