HOKITIKA, June 13. The Hokitika Borough Council mot last evening,-the Mayor (Mr A R. Elcock) presiding, when the Deputy.Mayor and personnel of the various committees were elected. The following v. ere appointed:—Deputy-Mayor, Cr. C. Caliari; Finance Committee: The Mayor (chairman) and the whole Council; Works Committee: Crs. S. G. Havill (chairman), L, S. Ross, C. Caliari, D. Pettigrew, A. C. Armstrong; Reserves Committee: Crs. A. C. Armstrong (chairman), W. H. Stopforth, H. C. Peart, I. J. Preston, S. G. Roberts; Rates and By-laws Committee: The Mayor (chairman) Crs. L. S. Ross, A. C. Armstrong; Library Committee: Crs. Peart (chairman), S. G. Roberts, D. Pettigrew. Fire Board, representatives: Cr. H. C. Peart and Mr T. W. Duff. Swimming Baths: Crs. Stopforth (chairman), Roberts; Abattoirs: Crs. W. H. Stopforth (chairman), D. Pettigrew, S G. Roberts. It was decided that the meeting night be the third Wednesday in the month.
