PERSISTENCE REWARDED.
AUCKLAND, June 7
The winner of the £2OOO art union prize was G. W. Hare, of 7 Alfred Street, Auckland, aged 58, a railway foreman at the Auckland station, who said he had been buying an average of two tickets in every art union for many years. He had never before won any art union prize.
