BOXING . WELLINGTON, May 15. Y’oung Jim Griffin outclassed Ron Hensley, the winner of the A.I.F. Pacific Welterweight Championship, in a ten-round professional boxing contest here to-night. The referee stopped the fight in the last round, awarding the decision to Griffin on a technical knock-out, a bad gash having been opened below Hensley’s lelt eye. AUCKLAND, May 16. Giving away half-a-stone in weight, Doug. Rollinson met a hardpunching opponent in the American, Alf Gauthier, last night. Gauthier won on points. Rollinson was down for six in the sixth and nine in the last round when almost out on his feet. He was continually punished by a solid right as he attempted to carry the fight to Gauthier, but he displayed extreme gameness. It appeared that Gauthier won the majority of the rounds, although the referee was called upon to give a decision. ■
