GERMAN STATEMENTS. LONDON, May 16. “Ships are assembling at Bristol and other English ports for the Allied invasion, preparations for which arc complete,” says a Berlin report. “Reconnaissance over Southern England revealed intense activity, said a Luftwaffe spokesman. “The concentrations of ships and barges were so large that attacks had to be made on Bristol harbour.” The Stockholm correspondent ot the “Daily Telegraph” says that the German home front last week was optimistic, but that this week it has had a severe relapse. This, he says, is the effect of announcements that the invasion is now a certainty. TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS. LONDON, May 15. The British Government has found it necessary to cancel many more trains this'Summer without notice. The public are being urged not to make unnecessary journeys and no conferences involving long distance travel are to be held.
