“PEARL HARBOUR” TRIALS WASHINGTON, May 12. Republican Representative D Short is introducing a resolution seeking to force the trial oi' MajorGeneral W. C. Short and RearAdmiral H. E. Kimmel on charges of negligence at Pearl Harbour on July 12, 1941. Representative Short said the resolution would extend the Statute of Limitations to July 12, 1944. and direct the War and Navy Secretaries to begin the Courts-martial before then. He claimed that if the resolution is passed and the Secretaries failed to obey, they could be impeached. Kimmel, this week, pleaded for immediate trial through his counsel. Kimmel ,and Major-General Short have already signed waivers to the Statute of Limitations, bpt doubts have been raised as to the legality of such action. ' LEASE-LEND. WASHINGTON, May 12. The House of Representatives passed the Lend Lease Extension Bill.
