LOCAL BODY ELECTIONS

GREY COUNTY CANDIDATES

Mr. F. L. Turley to-day announced his intention of contesting one of the Grey County seats on the Greymouth Harbour Board. Mr.' W. Fisher will stand for re-election to the Grey County Council, the Hospital Board and the Power Board, and Mr. H. G. Carter the County Council and the Hospital Board. Mr. A. Dreckman will be a County candidate for the Hospital Board and Mr. J. Ryan for the County Council and the Power All the above candidates attended a meeting held at Ngahere last evening when Mr. F. Donovan a County candidate for the East Riding addressed a meeting of about 50 electors Mr. G. E. Logie was voted to the chair. Mr. Donovon spoke at some length on County affairs and announced his policy. He received an attentive hearing.
