A SUCCESSFUL MEETING The Greymouth Amateur Athletic Club held a successful athletic meevin? at the Recreation Ground on Saturday in perfect weather conditions. The track conditions were excellent, but a strong wind against ihe competitors in the sprint events and for part of the journey m tne longer races made fast times impossible. The West Coast 100 yards championship was won by K. Hor- • ack and Miss I. Fielding won the women’s 100 yards championship. K. Prmg, of Greymouth, was second m the javelin throw at the annual in-ter-wing and station athletic meeting of the R.N.Z.A.F., at Christchurch on Saturday. O. Michel, of Cobden, was second in the mile walk, and Miss N. White, formerly of Greymouth, won the 75yds., 100 yards and the long jump m the section for W.A.A.F.’s.
