HOKITIKA NOTES

[OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HOKITIKA, Nov. 18. A meeting was held last evening in the Soldiers’ Hall with a view to forming a Revue Company. There was an attendance of over forty. Mr. R. Guthrie presided and outlined the proposals. A constitution was drawn up and it was decided to hold two revues a year, the proceeds of which 75 per cent, will go to some charitable cause and 25 per cent, to be held in reserve for the purchase of scenery and costumes. The following officers were elected: Patron: The Mayor, Mr. A. R. Elcock. President, Dr. T. Childs Vice-Presidents: Mesdames W. Wilson, J. S. Langford, G. Perry; Messrs H. M. Coulson, W. H. Stopforth, W. J. Radford and A. E. Perry. Producer: Miss A. P. Duff. SecretaryTreasurer: Mr. R. Guthrie. Wardrobe Mistress: Mrs. P. Crough. Stage manager: Mr. W. J. Richards. Advertising manager: Mr. R. Stevenson. Orchestra Leader: Mr. P. Crough. Other members of the executive committee elected were: Mrs. R. Paterson and Messrs R. Cooper and A. Neil. Mr. F. Armitage of the Forestry Department at Hokitika has received notice of his transfer to Rotorua and will be leaving shortly. It is understood that the Conservator of Forests for Westland, Mr. F. J. Perham, will be transferred and that Mr. Courtenay Biggs will be coming back in his place, after service in the Forestry Unit overseas. _____
