PRICE CONTROL
(Recd. 11.45 a.m.) NEW DELHI, Nov. 16. The Government had accepted the ideal of statutory price control throughout India, said Mr. R. H. Hutchings, Secretary to the Food Department, during aii Assembly debate on the food famine.
“No stroke of genius will solve the food problem,” he said. “It is a very big administrative task working out details. The public realises that food henceforth must not be sport for political ambition and financial ingenuity. Price control, which must be accepted in principle in India, must also be supported by the control «f other commodities and the supply of consumer goods.
