ROLL OF HONOUR.
SERGEANT WILLIAM JOHN CORNISH (Kokiri).
Killed in Air Action, October 16, 1942. Rest in Peace. To Our Dearly Beloved Son— It’s not the tears at the moment shed That tell of the hearts that are torn, But the loneliness in years to come Of a mother and father’s sorrow ever so silently borne. Now one long weary year has passed Since we received the blow— Our dearest son had given his life To save us from our foe. . . Inserted by his loving parents, Kokin. In loving memory of our dear brother, who gave his life 16/10/42. It was God’s wish to claim him In the prime of his manhood days, But we have some lovely memories That in our hearts forever will stay. Inserted by his loving sisters and brothers, Doreen and Kelvin, Kathleen, Kevin and Ramon. Though life brings must that is altered, And time brings much that is new, There is one thing that, will never slter, My memory, dear Billy, of you. Inserted by his loving cousin, David Cornish.
