BRITAIN’S CABINET

IMPORTANT CHANGES

LONDON, Sept. 24. The appointment of Sir John Anderson as Chancellor of the Exchequer is announced among Cabinet changes which have followed the death of Sir Kingsley Wood. The King has approved the following appointments:— Lord President of the Council, Mr. C. R. Attlee. . Chancellor of the Exchequer, Sir John Anderson. Secretary of Stale for the Dominions, Lord Cranborne. Lord Privy Seal, Lord Beaverbrook. .Minister of State, Mr. Richard Law. Mr. Attlee will continue as Deputy Prime Minister. Sir John Anderson will be a member of the War Cabinet and Lord Cranborne will have access to the war Cabinet, both as Dominions Secretary and Leader of the House of Lords. Mr. Law will assist Mr. Eden. Other appointments will be announced later. The present Minister of State (Mr. if. G. Casey) will in future be officially described as Minister of State resident in the Middle East.
