GRACIE FIELDS’S SECRETARY
HOLLYWOOD, Aug. 20. Violet van Somerin, 33, identified by the police as secretary to Gracie Fields, the English comedienne, was shot and killed in her flat by a man who climbed in at a window. The man, who turned a revolver on himself later in the prison hospital, gave his name as Gaetano Falciani’ 38, stating that he and Miss van Somerin were sweethearts until three months ago, when she left him. He is not expected to live.
