POST-WAR ORDER
CHURCH LEADERS’ CONFERENCE
NEW YORK, July 12. An international Conference of Christian leaders, at Princetown has made recommendations on the postwar world order. The conference recommends that the temporary collaboration among the United Nations should, as soon as possible, give way to a universal order and should not be consolidated into a closer military alliance with the object of establishing a preponderance or a concert of .power. This recommendataion was part of a resolution on post-war problems, which was adopted after four days of discussions. Other requirements were named lor progress towards universal order. These included the following:— . Firstly: That national isolationism, and the monopolism of political power by a few nations, and the balance of power, which hitherto has failed to maintain peace, be repudiated as policies which contravene the purpose of establishing a world order. Secondly: That armaments be drastically reduced as a step towards the goals envisaged by the Atlantic Charter. •
