" The Lancaster bomber landed at Ohakea shortly after 4 o’clock to-day from,Melbourne, the journey taking seven hours and 39 minutes from take-off to landing, but seven hours and six minutes from Melbourne to Mount Egmont. . . , The crew,' headed by Flight Lieutenant P. Isaacson, are all Australians who served together on operational flights over Europe. Hight Lieutenant Isaacson holds tne D.l* .C. and D.F.M. . The average speed across the Tasman was 191 miles an hour, and the machine travelled mostly at an altitude of 10,000 feet. , The passengers, who included Lora Burghley, British Controller of Repair and Overseas Supplies, were met bv the Governor-General (Sir Cyiii Newall), Air Commodore R. V. Goddard, Mr. Sullivan, and the United Kingdom High Commissioner- (Sir Harry Batterbee).
