Mr. and Mrs. C. Le Chaminant, Palmerston North, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. A. Boustridge, Dobson.
Dr. L. H. Aitken, who was recently appointed to the post of surgeon at the Grey Hospital, arrived yesterday from Christchurch. He was accompanied by Mrs. Aitken.

The death occurred early this morning, of Mr G. G. Hodgkins, Chief Electoral Officer for New Zealand since 1928, aged 68 years. He was spending annual leave at the Wairongomai Station, Featherston, and took ill 10 days ago. He was born at Dunedin and educated at the Otago Boys’ High School. He leaves a wife and two daughters.—P.A.
Mr. and Mrs. G. Head, Master and Matron respectively, of the Westport Old People’s Home, have tendered their resignations to the Buller Hospital Board, to take effect from July 31. The resignations were accepted with regret at a meeting of the Board. It was decided to convey to Mr. and Mrs. Head the Board’s appreciation of the manner in which they had conducted the Home and the Board’s wish for a long and happy retirement.
The death occurred at Picton on Monday of Professor J. E. L. Cull, who until August of last year was Professor of Civil Engineering at Canterbury University College. His resignation had been accepted with regret by the College Council at its mooting on December 22, 1941, when it was decided to grant him six months’ leave of absence as from March 1, and to send him a letter acknowledging his services to the School of Engineering. Professor Cull was born in Christchurch in 1878.
The death occurred at Nelson yesterterday of Mr Joseph Stuart. His wife passed away about two years ago. His brothers are Messrs David P. Stuart, Thomas Stuart and Robert J. Stuart, of Hokitika, and there are three sisters, Miss Kate Stuart, of Nelson; Mrs J. Chapman, of Nelson; and Mrs. J. Proctor, of Queensland. Deceased was a native of Tasmania, and 72 years oil age. In his earlier years he was at Kumara, where he was a bandsman; later he was an attendant at the Mental Hospital, and then came , to Greymouth, working in the moulding shop at the Dispatch Foundry. He then went to Wellington, ultimately - settling at Nelson.
