ASSAULT CHARGES MADE

(Rec. 1 p.rn.) NEW YORK, Oct. 22. A Los Angeles message says that two charges of assault have been prefe 'red against Errol Flynn, the Aus-tralian-born screen star. Flynn is due to appear in Court to-morrow, on a charge of having assaulted Betty Hanson, aged 17 years, after a party on the night of September 29. Last night, Flynn was charged with having assaulted Peggy Satterlee, aged 17, during a week-end trip on his yacht, On August 3, 1941. Police records show that the girl’s mother reported the affair to the District Attorney, but that she and the daughter disappeared before a complaint could be issued. Flynn was born at Hobart in June, 1909, and became an American citizen last August. He was rejected for military service because of a lung ailment. He married Lilli Damita, also a film star in May. 1935, and she divorced him last April, retaining custody of their son. Sean. Under Californian law, the age of consent is 18.
