P. Ryan. Motions of condolence were passed with the Heaphy family in the death of their mother, and with the Ellis family of Geraldine in the death on active service of Pilot Officer A. L. As a donation for services given during the season, it was decided to give the gate takings (£5/3/-) from the Army match at Rugby Park last Saturday to the St. John Ambulance Association. It was resolved that the seven-a-side tournament postponed from last Saturday be held at Rugby Park on Saturday next, commencing at 1.30 p.m. Additional nominations will be received, by Mr Baillie up to 5 p.m. tomorrow.

MISSING TOGS CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 22. At a previous meeting of the Canterbury Rugby Union Management Committee it had been reported that after the Canter bury-West Coast representative game, seven jerseys, four pairs of shorts, and two pairs of stockings were missing. This evening it was reported that one jersey had been recovered, and it was decided to make a direct appeal to the players to return the missing togs. “This kind of thing has been treated too lightly,” said Mr.. St. J. J. Dunne. “Plainly speaking it is downright theft.” The difficulty of securing football gear at this time was mentioned, and one member said that the habit of taking togs was firmly established. “You have only to see the players at some club practices to find out how many representative socks go astray.” he said.
