ATTACK ON MALTA

RUGBY, August 11. Enemy bombers attacked Malta on Monday night. Less than half reached them objective. There was some damage to property, and one person was injured. On Tuesday morning fighters attempted to sweep over the island, but were intercepted by Spitfires. In the afternoon, reconnaissance planes appeared over the island. GREECE AND CRETE. LONDON, August 11. The Moscow radio says that 30.00 British, Australian, arid New Zealand officers and men are fighting with about 30,000 guerrillas against Axis forces in Greece and Crete.
