A London cablegram announced the death of Mr. Alfred Casanova Ballard, aged 75. He was a rich uncle” to thousands of Plymouth young people, for whom he spent over £250,000.
Mr. Justice Tyndall, Mr. W. Cecil Prime, and Mr. A. L. Monteith, members of the Court of Arbitration, which has been sitting in Greymouth, will return to Christchurch to-mor-row.
Mr Norman Gandell arrived from Christchurch, yesterday, asm-eheving-manaeer for Hallenstem Bios. Greymouth branch, Mr. A. B. Croudis having been admitted to hospital.
