ADDISON’S FLAT COMPANY

Mr G. M. Powell presided at the

ninth annual meeting of shareholders of the Addison’s Flat Gold Mining Company, Ltd. The balance-sheet and accounts were adopted, and the interim dividend of 15 per cent, paid out during the last year was approved.

Two retiring directors, Messrs G. M. Powell and FL D. Hamilton, were

re-elected to the board, and Mr L. Gay was reappointed auditor. The chairman, in presenting the report and -balance-sheet, said that after paying shareholders 15 per cent. a substantial credit balance had been carried forward. Full-time operations were about to begin on a new area at the southern end of Gallagher’s Lead, but owing to the shortage of men it was impossible to work more than one shift continuously. The company’s greatest need at the moment was two suitable men, as the labour position made it increasingly difficult to carry on operations, the chair- j man concluded.
