RUGBY FOOTBALL

BULLER V. WEST COAST

West Const will defend the Rundle Cup against Buller at Rugby Park, Greymouth, to-morrow. On the last occasion the teams met, West Coast revelled in the bad conditions, and won by 17 points to nil. However, the ground conditions to-morrow will probably be better than thej' were at Westport, and the Buller team can be looked to for a better performance. In view of the Sedd.on Shield matches ahead, the relative performances of the two teams will be watched with interest. West Coast’s excellent effort in the match with Canterbury at Greymouth earlier in the season will not be forgotten, and followers of the game expect West Coast to retain the trophy to-morrow.

M. Davidson and C. Monk are not available for the West Coast team, and they will be replaced by Goodall and L. Stewart respectively. Roche and Horrack will now be the emergency backs. HIGH SCHOOLS’ MATCH. Playing at Hokitika on Wednesday, the Greymouth Technical High School's first- fifteen defeated the first fifteen of the Hokitika District High School by 11 points to nil. It was a fast, interesting game, but Greymouth were superior in both backs and forwards. In a match between the second fifteen of the Hokitika .School, and the third fifteen of the Greymouth Tech- 1 nical, Hokitika won by 14 points to three.
