Scratched: Conflagration was withdrawn from the A.R.C., Winter Steeplechase, at 11.15 a.m., yesterday. Silver Sands Retired: The Phaleron bay filly, Silver Sands recently went amiss, and she has been retired to the stud. The filly is owned by Mr. W. Toon, of Christchurch.

At Riccarton: Adina, formerly trained at Omoto, and owned by Mr. A. Kyle, of Greymouth, has been sent to Riccarton to be trained by C. G. Humphries. He will be raced over the battens. While trained at Omoto, by V. A. Lee, now of Wingatui, Adina showed some promise as a jumper.

Battle Song Filly Lost: A filly by the imported horse. Battle Song, from Moorflower, was found dead in her paddock this week, having apparently died from some internal ailment. She was an attractive filly, and was highly regarded. Her dam is by Myosotis from Moorbird, the dam of Retriever and Moorsotis.
