HOLLYWOOD’S GLORY BOX
There has come to Greymouth an 1 outstanding selection of frocks, ac- ■ cessories, etc., actually worn by lead- ! ing actresses in recent Hollywood productions. This is a magnificent gesi ture from Hollywood stars to New ’ Zealand’s war effort. The following is an extract from a letter received from an American producer. He states: “Never before in the history of motion pictures has such a magnifiIcent collection of gowns been availi able at one time for the public of any ■ country in the world to see.”
In aid of patriotic funds, these £20,000 worth of frocks from Hollywood will be paraded in the Regent Theatre to-morrow (Wednesday) at 8 p.m. by White’s Fashion Corner, supported by musical items, etc. By attending at the Regent to-morrow evening you are guaranteed a pleasant lime and you will also holo the Patriotic Fund.' The following is the programme:—■ (1) Official opening of “Hollywood’s Glory Box” by the Mayor, Mr. F. A. Kitchingham. (2) Orchestral item arranged by Mr. A. Christensen.
(3) Parade No. 1: Mrs. McLachlan wearing a green and white striped dimity gown and hat worn by Margaret Sullavan in “Back Street.” (4) Solo: Mr. Pike. (5) Parade No. 2: Miss Betty Marshall wearing the frock worn by Shirley Temple in one of her earlier pic-tii'-cs, part of which has been incorporated in her latest film “Young People.” She will also dance a Shirley Temple dance.
(6) Ballet arranged by Miss Miriam Trott.
(7) Parade No. 3: Costumes and coats from White’s Fashion Corner.
(8) Parade No. 4: Mr. Keith FehsenKkl wearing the cowboy outfit worn by Gene Autry in “Goldmine in the Slr<” He will also sing “There is a Goldmine in the Sidy.” Mr. W. Roughan wearing a cowboy outfit worn by John Wayne in his latest pictu -e.
(9) Parade No. 5: Miss Clark wearinr a three-piece rose beige ensemble worn by Barbara Stanwyck in the film “Golden Boy.” Miss Miriam Trott wearing the black and white frock worn by Marlene Dietrich in the role cf Bijou in “Seven Sinners.”

(12) Parade No. 7: Miss Kath Thomson wearing a black dinner gown worn by Rit’a Hayworth in the film “Before I Die.” Miss Eileen Hannan wears a grey ninon evening gown worn by Irene Dunne in “Penny Serenade.” Miss’ Rona Peillon wears a silver sequined creation worn by Betty Grable in “Down Argentine Way.” (1.3 Parade No. 8: Afternoon frocks from 'White’s Fashion Corner.
