MONTHLY MEETING HELD

The monthly meeting of the Nelson Land Board was held on February 12, there being present, Messrs P. R. Wilkinson, Commissioner of Crown Lands (chairman), J. O'Regan, A. Rowling, J. Creighton and G. L. Mead. Following a discussion on the dates of meetings for 1942, it was decided that the resolution of 11/9/41 be rescinded in so far as it related to the months of March to December. 1942, and to recommend that Board meetings be held at 10.30 a.m. on the second Wednesday of the months ol April, June, August, October and December. ‘ It was resolved that the application of Mr J. 11. Harling for a renewable lease of Lot 7, town of St. Arnaud Evtension No. 1 be approved, capital value £3O, annual rental £l/10/as from 11/2/42. It was resolved that the application of Mr W. T. Brown for a renewable lease title to section 23, Lown of Carters Beach, be approved as from 12/2/42, capital value £5O, annual rental £2/10/-.

Area of 5 acres (approx) adjoining section 65, Block IX, Waimea S.D.- — Applicant, Mrs Margaret Kerr.—Resolved to cancel O.L. 1139 as at 31/12/41 and to grant Mrs M. Kerr a year-to-year license as from 1/1/42 over the same area, at a rental of £1 per annum. It was resolved to grant Mr G.-W. Biggs a year-to-year license over section 24,‘810ck XIV.. and 11, Block XIII. Wangapeka S.D., as from 10/3/42 at a rental of £2/12/6 per annum. _ T It was resolved to grant Mr T. V. Southon a year-to-year license over the area of section 41, Block V, Inangahua S.D, occupied by his cottage on part section 41, Block V., Inannum as from 1/1/42. It was resolved to grant Mr T. Southon (senr.) a year-to-year license over area occupied by his cottage on part section 41, Bolck V., Inangahua S.D, as from 1/1/42, ai a rental of £1 per annum. Timber-cutting Rights: It was resolved to grant the Inangahua Saw- ' milling Company the right to cut milling timber on sections 24 and 2d, Block IX, Inangahua S.D, for a period of 12 months, from 1/2/42, subject to payment of royalties at 'State Forest rates. Deposit £4O. License fee £l/1/-. , , _ Application to Sub-lease: Sections 82 and part 83, Westport Colliery Reserve, area 13.7 perches. Allred Penney to T. Rae-Douglas first portion, Mrs C. R. Silcock. —Resolved that grazing rights held by Mr J. R. Silcock over Section 18, Block VI, Reefton S.D, be terminated as at 8/1/42, annual rental of area remaining in Silcock’s license to be reduced by £ 1 per annum- from 8/1/42.
