DUKE OF KENT
ARRIVAL IN CANADA.
(Rec. 9.25 a.m.) OTTAWA, July 29. The Duke of Kent arrived at the Rockliffe airport. He was met by the Earl of Athlone, Mr. Mackenzie King, and Mr. Malcolm MacDonald, thence drove to Rideau Hall, where he is the guest of the Gover-nor-General. Accompanying the Duke, are two R.A.F. officers, Group Captain Sir Louis Greig and Flight Lieutenant P. J. Ferguson. His private secretary, Mr. Lowther, arrived last week.
The Duke will shortly begin an inspection tour of the Empire air training establishments. The official statement has not fixed in advance the itinerary. The Duke will make the tour .by plane, and it will therefore depend on the weather. He will visit every province, involving a programme as arduous and extensive as that of Their Majesties. The major difference is that the visit is primarily of a service character, and is not to be regarded as one of State. The Duke contemplates a stay of six weeks. It is understood that, at present, the Duke does not intend to visit the United States. —U.P.A.
