[OUP OWN COBBESPONDffiNT.] A meeting of the Runanga Borough Council was held, last evening, for the purpose of swearing in. the new Councillors. The Mayor (Mr. E. Kennedy) presided. Present were: Councillors S. O’Neill, A. Auld, A. Sparkes, C. Barrow, W. Duggan, and W. Williams. In welcoming the new councillors

the Mayor expressed the hope that their term of office would be pleasant, and that the town would progress under their guidance. He paid a tribute to the work of the retiring Mayor land Councillors. I The Mayor and Cr. Williams were i appointed Trustees. It was decided to I hold the regular meetings of the I Council, on the first Tuesday of each | month. On the motion of Crs. O’Neill land Barrow the remuneration of the 'Returning Officer and assistants was fixed at the same as on previous occasions.
