REEFTON, April 28.
There was a large gathering at the Reef ton bowling green yesterday when the official closing of the season took place. Progressive pairs were played. The occasion was taken ad- ’ vantage of to recognise the assistance given to the club by the ladies of the district. Mr. E. J. Willis thanked the ladies for their assistance during the ‘season. He presented the trophies won during the season as follow:— Singles, M. Fennell; Intermediate, F. Bonifacio; Junior Singles, F. Newcombe; Pairs, V. Mori and A. McElwee; Rinks, Cleaver, Cutbush, Chandler and Clark. He asked the hon. caretaker to accept an envelope of cash, as an appreciation by the members, for the service of Mrs. and Mr. Draper. The funeral of the late Mr. William Patterson moved' from the residence of his brother, Walshe Street, on Sunday afternoon’ for the Suburban Cemetery. The burial services at the house and at the graveside were coni ducted by Rev..R. R. Seaton of Knox# Presbyterian Church. The pall bearers were Messrs. Mellett, Silcock Bros, and McMahon. Many floral tributes were received by the family. - /
