GANDHI’S PAPER OFFER

Criticising Mr. Amery’s speech in Parliament on April 23, Mr. Gandhi said: “I admit that there is unfortunately, an unbridgeable gulf between Congress and the Muslim League. Why don’t the British statesmen admit that this is, after all, a domestic quarrel? Let them withdraw from India, and I promise that Congress, the Muslim League, and other parties will find it in their interest to come together, and devise a home-made solution for the government of India.

BOMBAY, April 26.
The police here fired on native rioters during Hindu-Moslem disturbances. Troops are standing . by as tension between the tw r o sects rises. Two were killed and 57 were injured in the riots.
