ITALIAN CLAIMS.
LONDON, February 16. A Rome communique says: “Italian . bombers in East Africa squarely hit la British cruiser of the Carlisle class and put to flight another cruiser which appeared off Mogadisho. Hard fighting occurred in the Kismayu zone. Enemy aeroplanes attacked a locality in Eritrea, killing about ’2O natives. We lost two fighters. The
enemy’s pressure in the Keren sector has diminished. The enemy suffered considerable losses of men and arms last Thursday. I “The Italians on the Greek front 'frustrated Greek attempts to reach Italian positions. I “ffe bombed harbour installations 'and the aerodrome at Malta and also 1 enemy mechanised forces and some ships’ along the North African coast. The Luftwaffe bombed enemy troops, tanks, and mechanised units.” A German communique says that fighters attacked British columns in Cyrenaica and destroyed military objectives at Benghazi and El Agheila.
