WILLIAMS-TYSON

The wedding took place at the Runanga Presbyterian Church on Saturday afternoon of Joan, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I. Tyson, of Runanga and Robert Edward, elder son Mr. and Mrs. A. Williams, also of Runanga. Rev. F. H. Robertson officiated and Mr. J. Anderson was at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her | father, wore a gown of needle-run lace cut on graceful lines, the fullness in the bodice being pleated into soft folds, with a yoke trimmed with tulle and tulle-trimmed medici collar. The fully flared skirt fell to form a small train. Her embroidered veil, gathered at the crown, was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf of Christmas lilies. The bride was attended by her two sisters, Misses Madge and Norma Tyson, who were frocked respectively in lilac and lemon net and lace over taffeta. The shirred bodices were trimmed with velvet bows, the very full skirts completed with . pointed lace, being trimmed at the points with bows. They wore lace boleros and mittens, with picture hats to match, and carried sheafs in toning colours. As the' bride left the Church she was presented with a horse-shoe by Miss Nancy Williams, sister of the bridegroom. Mr. W. Williams, brother of the bridegroom, was best man and Mr. J. Tyson (Christchurch), cousin of the bride was groomsman. The reception was held at Harker’s where the bride’s mother received the guests, wearing a black ensemble relieved with gold, and a shoulder spray of. gold-tinted roses. She was assisted by the bridegroom’s mother, who wore a navy ensemble, with a shoulder spray of pink tonings. Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Williams left by the rail-car for Christchurch, en route to Auckland, the bride travelling in a mustard-coloured model frock and a lime-green coat, with hat and accessories to tone. /
