BLAKETOWN SCHOOL ASSN.

MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Blaketown Home and School Association held last evening was well attended, there being 30 members present. Arrangements were made for the forthcoming School. Show to be held on Saturday December 14. It was decided to acquire cups for the winners of the home garden competitions, and also a challenge cup to be awarded yearly for most points in the vegetable and flower sections of the show. Judging was arranged for vegetables and flowers, cookery, decorated vehicles, baby show and the school sections; also stall-holders for the tearooms, sideshows, produce, sweets, ice cream and general stalls. The children are to give a display of drill and folk dancing, and a concert on the day of the show. Arrangements are also in train for the painting of the rocks in the new rockery at the front of the school, and for floodlighting the grounds on the evening of the show. The Headmaster, Mr. F. W. Coleman, thanked the Association, and the people of Blaketown and Preston Road generally, for the interest and support they have accorded the school throughout the year. In thanking Mr. Coleman for his remarks, the Chairman, Mr. L. J. Shuker, wished the staff the compliments of the season. The meeting concluded with supp eland a community sing.
