RUMANIA AND GERMANY

RUSSIAN MISGIVINGS. [BY CABLE. —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] LONDON, September 20. The Balkans correspondent of “The Times” says that evidence is accumulating that German military cooperation with Rumania is tantamount to German control. The Rumanian dictator (General Antonescu) has appealed to Germany to reorganise the army, and it is reliably reported that preparations have been made to enable German aircraft to land at Floresti airport, near the oilfields. German Black Guards are reported to be encamped at two places in the same area and great activity has been observed. The Russian Legation, which is alarmed at these developments, regards the new Government with deep suspicion, and the continued arrival of Russian reinforcements is reported on the Bessarabian front.

HUNGARIAN ATROCITIES.' BUCHAREST, September 20. The newspapers to-day published accounts of Hungarian atrocities in Transylvania, stating some outrages, including crucifixion of a priest on a church tower, are known to be true. DOBRUJA OCCUPATION. VARNA, September 21. Fifty thousand Bulgarian troops have begun the occupation of South Dobruja. EXPORT OF ORE. BELGRADE, September 21. After a meeting of the GermanJugoslav Trade Committee, the Jugoslav Government is reported to have forbidden the export of mineral ore through Salonika. This largely affects exports to Britain. GREEK-GERMAN TRADE. ROME, September 22. The radio announced that Greece and Germany had signed a trade agreement.
