MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. At the weekly meeting of the Management Committee of the West floast Rugby League, last evening, there were present: Messrs P. Blanchfield (president), L. Hunter, W. Hopkins, A. Fielding, C. K. Morel, H. Bassett, J. Stokes, P. Sweetman, A. Kyle and W. Moore (secretary). Apologies for absence were received from Messrs J. J. Anisy and B. Ramsay. Motions of condolence were passed ;o the relatives of the late Mrs M. J. Earl and the late Mr G. Ross. The Blackball Club wrote, stating ;hat it had been suggested that it had .von the Bradshaw Cup three times n succession and thus outright, and asking if it was correct. The president said that the matter rad been gone into before, and it vas found that on one occasion Blackball had been coupled with ,w,o other teams as the winners of the trophy, and thus it was considered that Blackball had not won it outfight. Mr Fielding said he understood from the donor of the trophy that it was to remain the property of the League for all time. The president moved that the Blackball Club be informed that, seeing that one year three clubs were joint winners of the Cup, the Management Committee does not consider the Cup to be won outright, and that, in the meantime, the League will ascertain the original conditions from the donor. The motion was seconded by Mr i Hopkins and carried. The Canterbury Junior Board of Control wrote asking that a grant be, made towards the expenses of send-| ing a third grade representative team to.play a West Coast junior team at. Greymouth. 1 It was decided to advise the Board that the West Coast League could not see its way clear to make a grant to bring a team to Greymouth. 1 The Oil Fuel Controller advised that, owing to the lateness of the season, it was not intended to issue a general license to the League for petrol to travel teams, and that separate licenses would be issued each week-end to the teams-concerned, for which application must be made to the District Controller by Friday of each week. It was decided to forward a copy

of the letter to the clubs requiring petrol. JUNIOR KNOCK-OUT. Referring to the fact that Blackball and Runanga had drawn three times in the semi-final of the junior Knock Out competition, Mr Fielding moved that it be a recommendation to the Fixtures Committee to play one series of the One Round competition before again matching Blackball and Runanga in the semi-final of the Knock-Out. The motion was seconded by Mr Hunter. Mr Kyle moved an amendment that the semi-final be again re-played at Blackball, next Sunday, the president seconding, pro forma. On being put to the meeting, the amendment, to play the match on Sunday, was carried by four votes to three, but after further discussion, the president moved that it be rescinded, and moved that all junior fixtures be suspended on. Sunday, owing to the general desire of junior players to witness the senior championship final at Wingham Park. This motion was seconded by Mr Kyle and carried unanimously. Mr Stokes, as manager of the West Coast team which played Inangahua oh. Sunday, reported that the team had won by 25 points to three, and although he could not say it was a wonderful match, it was quite fair. It had been a successful day and a credit balance had been shown on the fixture. The report was received as satisfactory. The secretary was instructed) to communicate with the Canterbury League, asking if it would consent to playing the match set down for Greymouth, on September 8, for-the Anisy Shield. For the Junior Advisory Board, Mr Sweetman reported that the Marist Club’s application for the reclassification of N. Hopkins from junior to third grade had been granted, owing to special circumstances. Arrangements had been finalised to take the Norman Cox Cup team (schoolboys) to 'Christchurch, and he (Mr Sweetman) had been appointed manager.
