MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE The West Coast Rugby Union’s • Management Committee met last evening, there being present: Messrs. A. A. Adams (chairman), F. Eggleton, T. Mclntosh, T. O’Donnell, J. Steel, J. Kyle, F. W. Baillie, T. P. Ryan, and A. M. Jamieson, (secretary), ' The Buller Union wrote accepting the suggestion of the West Coast Union that the Father Molloy Cup be given for'annual competition between West Coast and Buller juniors, on th| lines of the Rundle Cup competition. The recommendation of the Fixtures Committee that the Kumara seven-a-side be set down for September 21, was approved. The Westland Sub-Union advised that two representative teams from South Westland would play at Hokitika on Saturday. 5 Captain J. G. Mackay wrote accepting the Union’s invitation for an Air Force team to play at Greymouth on September 7. Mr. Mclntosh, in a report on the West Coast team’s visit to Christchurch stated that there was some little delay in getting transport to the hotel, and at the hotel there were only three beds reserved for the players to rest, so they had to take it in turns to have a spell. The meeting went into committee to discuss the remainder of the report. When the meeting went out of committee, Mr. Mclntosh continued his report. He said that the team had played splendidly considering all the circumstances. “They were a wonderful crowd of chaps to travel with,” concluded Mr. Mclntosh. A motion of thanks to the Canterbury Union for the hospitality extended the Coast team in Christchurch was passed on the motion of Messrs. Ryan and Steel. A motion-of thanks was also passed to Messrs. Smart and Walmsley, of the Railways Department, Grey- ' mouth, for their co-operation in connection with the running of the excursion train. Mr. Ryan said that Mr. Walmsley could not do enough for the Union.

It was resolved that the West Coast team to play Canterbury at Greymouth, on next Saturday week, be chosen on Saturday evening next.

The transport arrangements for the West Coast Seddon Shield team were left to the secretary. It was resolved that.all clubs which have not paid affiliation fees, be advised that the fees are overdue. FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY Fixtures for Saturday next were arranged as follow:— Senior: Celtic v. Cobden, Park, No. 1 3 p.m. (R. J. Bell); United v. Blaketown, Park, No. 2, 3 p.m. (J. Fulton); Star a bye. Junior: Star v. Kumara, Park, No. I, 1.30 p.m. (R. Bunt); Celtic y. Te Kinga, Victoria Park, A. Ground, 1.30 p.m. (R. Ferguson); United v. Magpies, Victoria Park, A., 3 p.m. (N. Eggleton). , . Third Grade: United v. Magpies, Park, No. 2, 1.30 p.m. (M. Connolly); Tech. v. Cobden, Tech, ground, 1.30 p.m. (J. Minchin); Celtic v. Te Kinga, Victoria Park, B. ground, 1.30 p.m. (G. Costello). CANTERBURY v.. WEST COAST. Only one change has been made in the Canterbury Rugby representative team which will travel to Greymouth to play the return match against the West Coast on Saturday, August 31. M. P.
