CHRISTCHURCH, August 18
Auckland took the principal honours in the New Zealand University cross-country championships at Cashmere on Saturday. A. G. Kofoed (Auckland) led from start to finish to record the easiest win of the season over the Cashmere course. His time was 38min 47sec, one of the best returned for the 64-mile journey this year. . „
Auckland won the Dixon trophy for the teams’ championship, with 21 points. Otago was second with 27, Victoria third with 38, and Canterbury fourth with 50. The CarmaltJones Cup for the South Island championship was again won by Otago, with 22 points to Canterbury’s 33.

Wellington B team beat the Canterbury second grade side Jay 17 goals to 13 and the Canterbury third grade team beat the West Coast A team by 14 goals to 13.
