[our own correspondent.] On Monday evening, an enjoyable social evening was tendered to Mrs: F. Wylde, at her residence, McGowan Street, Runanga, by the General Committee and Ball Committee of the Runanga Plunket Society. After paying a tribute to Mrs. Wylde for her excellent work on the Committee, and wishing her and her family every success in the future, Mrs. Timlin presented Mrs. Wylde with a crystal cruet set, in apprecia-

tion of her kindness. Mesdames King and Barker also spoke of Mrs. Wylde’s ability,' and expressed regret at losing such a valued member. Mrs. Wylde suitably replied. Competitions were held, Mesdames, Rutherford, Gillaly and , Wylde junr., being the winners. A pleasant evening was brought to a close bj> the singing of Auld Lang Syne. ''
