FAREWELL.
The referred to the impending departure of Mr R. G. Millen for Oamaru, and eulogised his work during his term as president. He congratulated him on his promotion and hoped he would link up with the “Diggers” in Oamaru. Mr H. M. Co.ulson, Mr Evans and Mr R. Paterson (secretary) also referred to Mr Millen’s departure, which they regretted, but complimented him on his promotion. The chairman presented Mr Millen with a picture of the Waiho Glacier and an electric heater, and also spoke of the good work done by Mrs Millen. Mr Millen thanked the Association for kindness and co-operation during his term of office. He and Mrs Millen had been happy in Westland, which the appropriate gifts would always remind him of. He wished the branch success, and referred to the vast amount of work done by the secretary, Mi- R. Paterson. He hoped to be able to visit Hokitika occasionally and meet the members of the Association.
