MASKS FOR ANIMALS

IMMUNITY FROM GAS ATTACKS. ! A firm of British manufacturers is making gas masks for animals, even for elephants if required. It is claimed that nearly all animals can be given the same degree of immunity from gas attacks as human beings. ' “The extraordinary thing about it,” said the manager of the firm, “is that most animals show less objection 'to wearing masks than do men and women. It does not seem to worry them.” .Masks for dogs and cats are fitted ■with slide fasteners and adjustable neck straps. They can be put oh in 30 seconds. No matter how vigorously a dog shakes his head, he cannot dislodge the mask. Oiled fabric is used for the side in- , stead of rubber material, because it is [stronger. Even a cat's claws cannot puncture it easily.
