HOKITIKA NOTES
[OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] • HOKITIKA, May 7. Mi’ E. Eade and Mrs Eade and daughter left Hokitika for Auckland this morning. Mr Eade, who has been in charge of the Hokitika branch of the National Bank of N.Z. for some years,, has been transferred to Auckland and on the eve of his departure was met by the Mavor (Mr Perry) and several other businessmen. Mr Perry referred to Mr Eade’s courtesy and helpfulness as an, officer in the bank, and also his good citizenship. On behalf of several friends, he asked Mr Eade to accept a gift (a travelling rug) as l a token of their esteem. Mr W. J. Radford (manager of the Rimu Gold Dredging Co. and the Grey River Dredging Co.) mentioned the good relations that existed in their business, with Mr Eade, although he never failed to remind them of an overdraft. In handling the bullion from the dredges Mr Eade had shown care and expedition. Mr Eade returned thanks to the various speakers.
