“BLAKE WILL RISE AGAIN”
SIR ROGER KEYES’S VIEWS LONDON, March 12. Until the navy has full control of its own air arm another Blake cannot arise to sweep clear the North Sea, said Admiral of the Fleet Sir Roger Keyes, M.P., addressing a meeting of the City of London Unionist Association. Sir Roger, who has just been restored to -the active list, said that it was over 300 years since Britain suffered such indignities as in the last few months.
‘“A Blake will rise again, and there will be an end to these . piratical brutes who are now taking the lives of defenceless seamen. He will sweep the North Seas clear, but this time it will have to be by somewhat different methods. “Blake will rise again when we have a unified command which is responsible for all aircraft which the navy requires to fulfil its tremendous’ responsibilities. This is one of the things that must and will come.”
