z [OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] 3 Mr R. T. Roper presided over a * ’‘meeting of the Cobden Farewell ComJmittee last evening. Apologies for absence were received from Mrs Scorgie ’ and Messrs E. Cressey and S. Alderfl son. The secretary was instructed to . publish the result of the chocolate competition in both local papers. A ; vote of thanks was accorded to Miss ’ M. Kells for her assistance. It was decided to farewell the Cobden memI bers of the Second Echelon in the ‘ School Gymnasium on Tuesday, March ’ 19. The matter of arranging music ' was left to the chairman. Supper 1 arrangements were left to the lady members of the committee. It was decided to ask the Deputy-Mayor, Mr H. Herring, to make the presentations.
